China: Picnic Barbecue Fails Due To Unexpected Explosion

On July 28, 2024, an accidental explosion scene was captured in Kaiyang, Guizhou, while a woman was having an outdoor picnic barbecue with several friends. As they were about to enjoy the delicacies roasted in their homemade cooker, a sudden explosion blew apart the entire structure, sending sparks all around. The filmer explained that it was probably because they had used stones brought from a nearby river to build the makeshift cooker, which caused the explosion due to the dampness and uneven heating of the stones, according to their later reflections. Fortunately, none of the eight members of their party were seriously injured, except for two who were splattered by sparks.
